Had a FAN-tastic time yesterday at Motor City Comic Con! Finally got to
meet Robert Hays! When Robert saw that I brought a copy of the STARMAN DVD
for him to sign, his eyes lit up - it was great to see.

Hello Everyone,
I've added three new STARMAN stories by Brenda (mrwiseman) on our "How
Novel" Archive. These continue the saga she is writing under the overall
series title, Hybrid. These three may be considered a trilogy within her
entire series because they depict Scott in a way heretofore unseen in
STARMAN fan fiction. While I don't usually comment on the merits of any
story, I have to say how much I enjoyed this trilogy and #7 Lost, in
particular. It's deep stuff, and it's painful at times to see Scott in such
a state, but Brenda so developed the character, and later further expounded
on Scott's state of mind in such a rational fashion, that the behavior she
depicted is the most compelling literary response to his circumstances and
youth. Yes, some may feel he could/should have made better decisions based
on the extraordinary and close nature of his four year relationship with his
dad; others may feel he was too young to get married in the first place, and
Paul failed him by not counseling a slower approach. But, in my opinion,
then there would be a far weaker story, drained of the angst and emotion
that makes the story so powerful. This being STARMAN, all will end as it
should, and the father-son bond will emerge stronger than ever. How that
happens, and Scott's epiphany, is a fascinating story. I highly recommend
it. Brenda has received a number of kudos and positive comments for her
previous stories, and I'm quite certain these will be no exception. She's
quite the story teller.
