Starman-The Return

To anyone else considering buying the book "Starman-The Return" about Jenny after Starman leaves, save your money. Unfortunately, it's not well written at all. I was really hoping this might be a good one, but I couldn't even get passed the prologue (basically a recap of the last half of the movie). Annette

Please don't regret posting about it. I'm sure when you came across it, you didn't stop what you were doing to start reading it to realize how poorly it was written, and just wanted to pass a great find on to all of us. I went and immediately bought it, like several other people did, and I just wanted to save anyone else from wasting $5, or in the case of the paperback, $20 dollars. To anyone who can read past all of the glaring errors and mistakes, I commend you. I just can't do it. It drives me bananas when I see an author who has published through any of the big publishing groups have a typo in their book, but this one is obviously self published (not to say that everyone who self publishes through Amazon, etc, would have this many errors). I'm rather surprised she was able to get away with publishing this, as it's also very obvious it's not licensed. Unfortunately, it's just very poorly written fan fiction and should only have been posted to fan fiction sites. I for one am glad you posted it. Each of us has different tastes when it come to books. I loved the movie, I loved the series and look forward to books written regarding movie or series. I do follow amazon reviews to a degree but usually make up my own mind. I'm very glad you are able to get past all of the misused words, typos/misspellings, repetitious sentences, but that type of writing detracts from the story and drives me up the wall. Juanita Harrell's niece Pat Camm contacted Vicki Werkley to inform her that Juanita passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at her residence in Escondido, California. She was 94. Juanita was heavily involved in Spotlight Starman of Southern California and was a member of the convention crew for early STARMAN FAMILY-CONs. She was very good friends with John and Evie Hays, the parents of Robert Hays. Juanita was also one of the editors of the ENDLESSLY CREATIVE: SPOTLIGHT STARMAN COOKBOOK. I met Juanita the first time at the first STARMAN convention I ever attended, the 1990 Relaxacon in Los Angeles. (For the 1992 convention and all subsequent Los Angeles cons, the name was changed to STARMAN FAMILY-CON.) In particular, Juanita and Sharon Herden and I were up late one night and decided to grab a bite to eat. I remember how much I enjoyed talking to them, but mostly I was listening to their stories about STARMAN series trivia.
