Juanita Harrell's niece Pat Camm contacted Vicki Werkley to inform her that Juanita passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at her residence in Escondido, California. She was 94.
Juanita was heavily involved in Spotlight Starman of Southern California and was a member of the convention crew for early STARMAN FAMILY-CONs. She was very good friends with John and Evie Hays, the parents of Robert Hays. Juanita was also one of the editors of the ENDLESSLY CREATIVE: SPOTLIGHT STARMAN COOKBOOK.
I met Juanita the first time at the first STARMAN convention I ever attended, the 1990 Relaxacon in Los Angeles. (For the 1992 convention and all subsequent Los Angeles cons, the name was changed to STARMAN FAMILY-CON.) In particular, Juanita and Sharon Herden and I were up late one night and decided to grab a bite to eat. I remember how much I enjoyed talking to them, but mostly I was listening to their stories about STARMAN series trivia.
