Hello Everyone,
We have a new writer of STARMAN fan fiction, whose first story I just added to the Archive. Her name is Brenda, and she goes under the pseudonym of mrwiseman. Brenda recently found us on Starmanet.com, and says, "I wrote it because I enjoyed breathing some life into imagining what happened next in the series. It was fun escapism for me."
She goes on to add, "I watched Starman when it was originally on television, and I followed it to every new time as ABC moved it around. I adored the relationship of Scott and Paul. The idea a kid my age (I was 13 when it aired) could find out he was an alien and then, very literally, have to run for his life was what kept me watching every week. I guess at that age we all feel rather alien.
"It also went far beyond the typical science fiction show at the time. It managed to mix family and real danger. Fox telling Paul he wants to kill Scott in 'The Grifters' still gives me chills. In many ways that inspired my point of view for all my stories. Fox's fear of this hybridization of humans and aliens and " hybrid" Scott Hayden's view of his world/identity are central themes to my stories.
"Starman was the show that taught me the reality of cancellation. Up until that time, I just accepted that good programs came back in the autumn. I remember eagerly waiting for it to return, only to find it did not return. When I told my nephew all about the show, he surprised me in buying the DVD set. After watching it once again, I had to keep the story going in my own mind."
As you see, Brenda has written several Starman stories, and we're working to convert and bring those to the Archive in the future. In the meantime, here is the info for her story:
