I always thought you couldn’t send attachments via UTS, which is why I sent mine directly. STARMAN shooting sites

Hi Chuck and Effie, Frankie Villarreal asked on FaceBook about a list of the known STARMAN shooting sites: "Btw does anyone know the shot locations in Northern California were filmed,the exact locations,if so can you send them to me? I live in Northern California and I know some were in San Francisco and Los Gatos, but I don't know the exact location." Chuck, do I remember right that you had started such a list and/or photo album? Effie, do you happen to have notes on the sites you found in Seattle? I'm not sure if I have them despite our meticulous planning for the '95 gathering. I can't believe I don't have even a partial list. It's the perfect thing my archivist brain would take on. I'm losing it. :(

In all the pictures that have been broadcast about the Rattlesnake crack/landslide, isn't it interesting that there's no snow? The crack wouldn't be nearly as obvious if we had the snow that has been blanketing much of the east and even south. We're farther north than the city of New York, Boston, and even Minneapolis. Temperatures are in the upper 30's to mid-40's during the day - quite normal for us at this time of year. You all in the east can keep your snow. 😉

Geo map

I was looking for a geologic map of Rattlesnake ridge, which I didn't find. I did find this one of a study farther north. In the lower corner is a map that does show faults & folds on Ahtanum and Rattlesnake. I think it's interesting that one of those faults, to this layman's eye, looks to be where it is spreading. The photo I've attached is likely taken from the Parker post office parking lot. I haven't walked down there to be certain but that ugly tower in the foreground is across the highway from Parker. The top of the ridge was in the fog yesterday and so far still is this morning so I can't actually see anything. https://pubs.usgs.gov/sim/3212/sim3212_sheet.pdf

I am sitting at the mural office minding my own business with the radio station streaming on the computer. The noon news update comes on, which for the most part I ignore because it's about Trump's latest rant. Then the announcer says, "In Union Gap Washington....." and I perk up. I tried to look at the crack this morning as I left home but the top of the ridge was in the fog.

Some of the Seattle stations have taken shots from a helicopter that were broadcast on our local stations. The other night when I came home I saw significant light being projected on the ridge. I don't know if that was for monitoring or if they were placing the containers. Mostly for Bruce: This is the east side of the anticline just north of Parker. The west ridge is Ahtanum Ridge and the east ridge is Rattlesnake Ridge. I asked Nick during the field trip about Ancient Rivers Changing Course, if there was a geologic reason why the different names on either side of the Yakima River. He said no, it is one anticline with the antecedent Yakima flowing through. During the summer the sagebrush & grass on this ridge burned. It makes the crack stand out more starkly than it would otherwise. While I'm about 3 miles from the place and in no danger, I can see it from the house.
