I haven't been using UTS because there for a while it wasn't sending/receiving reliably.
A little more background for Nina - the best story was when a person said our engineer wasn't blowing the horn at a crossing when their pickup ran in front of our locomotive and was hit. I personally downloaded the black-box data and gave it to the sheriff's department. It was quite satisfying.

Yep, it's just us, the Fab 5. :D I made sure before sending Nina the link to subscribe. Maybe we could pick a different name.... UTS 5 doesn't sound as catchy as it looks when typed.
Changing email recipients to UTS for this thread.

Replying to Effie's comment about impressive damage: That's why we always like good train wreck stories!
Background to Nina: A private joke. Effie used to work on a railroad and often forwarded us stories about stupid people trying to beat a train across an intersection, usually with unfortunate results. As Bruce implied, it was the railroad who many times got blamed.
Question to Todd: There were other people on UTS at different times. Can we assume all were in fact removed? Joyce and Linda come to mind. I haven't used UTS for some time because you three and sometimes Nina were the only ones I cared to chat with, and it was just as easy to type in an abbreviated individual email address. Note Effie initiated this chain outside of UTS as well. Be happy to resume using UTS if it only includes us five ("The Fab 5"?)

FYI, Nina recently signed up to the UTS mailing list. It's private and only has Chuck, Bruce, Effie, me and now Nina. I know the rest of you were usually diligent to manually CC Nina on UTS postings but I always forgot; now I don't have to worry.

Since no Internet at home I'm at the Ag museum. Replies from me will be spotty.
I was very impressed by the photo showing the damage to the nose of the locomotive.

Ah, been so long since we had a good train wreck story.

I like how it's described as "train collides with semi" as if the train had any choice in the matter. It seems like we never see a proper headline like "Foolish truck driver fails to clear train tracks." :(

It swerved and collided with that semi that was minding its own business simply driving on the road...
