In the worst case, if an earthquake struck near the coast, a resulting tsunami could hit shore in as few as 15 to 30 minutes.
"It will happen," McConnell said of a subduction-zone quake. "It's tectonically necessary to relieve that stress at some point."

Almost sure that Effie or I will now look at something in the future and think "well, that was tectonically necessary." :)
