      i just recently saw a neighborhood alert that someone lost their cat named
Todd
first animal i've come across with my name, and spelled with two d's no less
do you think your parents knew about Euphemia? did they tell you how they
picked your name?
my parents picked one syllable names on purpose, and my brothers and i all
begin with 't' -- todd, trent, troy
my mom's sister marilyn and her husband ken named their first born glenn,
but all the rest began with 'k' -- kevin, karen, keith
i'll never forget the tech seminar i attended where the presenter's name
consisted solely of the letter 'h'

I don't know. But a connection to Harry Potter is at least associated with
someone heroic. I'm stuck with the evil Chucky from the horror movies,
although I might claim Charlie Brown, who at least is lovable. Todd gets a
Simpson character named after him, and Bruce of course gets to have the
Batman, Bruce Wayne,  as his namesake.

A long time ago there was a radio character called Effie Clinker. It was
on before I was aware, but a neighbor always called me that as a nickname.
In the Hunger Games there is a character called Effie Trinket.
Tonight I was reading about Harry Potter's paternal grandparents.  And
here I go again.
