Jim Trull, longtime manager of the Sunnyside Valley Irrigation District and a leader who helped usher in an unprecedented era of collaboration on Yakima Valley water issues, died Saturday.
Trull, 69, was praised as a quiet leader and a statesman who enjoyed working with others as he led efforts to conserve and improve water quality in the Lower Valley, while also representing the irrigation industry on the state and national level for decades.
Trull died in his sleep at his home in Grandview on Saturday, Myrum said.
