It's almost 4pm and I've just look at traffic in the Madras area. I didn't think to look earlier in the day but right now everything from somewhat south of Bend north past Madras is indicated as stop & go. What time did Bruce leave???? What did you get stuck in???
I'll file a full report later but the eclipse was amazing. Left Madras at 12:30 and got home at 4:30. Was very slow outside of warm springs and going up Mt Hood and ok the rest of the way.

What was it like to witness totality?
You're in this giant theater with no air conditioning and the room about 90 degrees. Your neck is sore from staring at the chandelier in the rafters a la "Phantom of the Opera." Still there is a murmur from the audience as Showtime by your watch starts in less than a minute. You expect the house lights to slowly dim, but they don't. As the seconds count down, you wonder if the whole thing was cancelled. Then with the snap of a finger, the lights totally go out in a single instant. The crowd roars their delight while immersed in total darkness for a mere two minutes or so. A truly memorable experience.
A few clouds rolling in and out, but caught all the phases, with total clarity throughout the minute and a half of totality. Worst traffic jam going home lasted about 5 minutes, as one traffic light wasn't intelligent enough to cycle for longer periods to accommodate egress out of town. Potty breaks were accomplished by visiting the library located at the edge of the park, enabling one to bask in air conditioned luxury for a few minutes.
