Thought you'd like to read this short blog I did for my corporate travel agency. Effie and I did this cruise way back in 2009.
Very nice, especially the opening analogy and the pictures.

The thing I remember most is that it was hot & sticky - the hottest Thanksgiving Day I'll ever experience! Also, the excursion was late returning to the ship and they weren't going to give us our dinner. Someone made a fuss and we got our meal. The Italian cruise line had no idea what to do with bread stuffing - they treated it like a garnish on the plate with a mere tablespoon served. Or maybe, we got so little because they didn't have a lot left. ________________________________ From: UTS uts-bounces@starmanet.com on behalf of Nina M. Remember only the good stuff, like the excitement of going through the Panama Canal.

Wow, I had no idea the fee was based on weight but it makes sense since even long haul trucking companies by land charge by weight, and Effie I seem to recall short lines also charge by weight? It's been sooooo long since I've thought about your job as a brake*person*. :D
FYI, it took me a bit to figure out how best to view it in Gmail. Gmail doesn't like real Word docs as well as I thought. It opened for me as 67 pages, mostly blank, and about half of the photos were rotated. But... I did get to enjoy reading the text and seeing the photos. If you have a way to send it as a PDF it might be treated in a kinder, gentler way lol. :D

Hi all,
In response to Todd's Christmas snow pictures, here are mine from December 27.
Monday night into Tuesday the weather forecast for the Yakima Valley and Kittitas Valley (Ellensburg area north of Yakima) was for an ice storm. I heard an interview with a weather service person saying this was the first time in 5 years they'd forecast such an event. Attached are some pictures. The temperature rose overnight so at 8:00am it is 32. It's to get warmer throughout the day and melt this stuff.
The first pictures is the ash tree with tiny icicles hanging all over it. The second is a close-up of the icicles on the awning looking out at the same tree. The third is a branch from the elm tree that's now on the ground. As I said before, the snow has been here since just after Thanksgiving.
The fourth picture is a National Park Service webcam photo I'm using as the desktop image on my computer. I captured it on Jan 9, 2022.
I do not think snow is pretty, nor do I like cold@!!@@@!@!!
